Workshops/Talks

Plants in Autumn- some wild plants and their uses. Part 1 and Part 2
Two talks about plants that can be picked in autumn around Vernon. We will sample them and learn about their uses. Each talk is 1.5hrs long and will cover plant identification, uses and samples. First talk will be on: Willow, Elder, Barberry, Chicory, Burdock and Crabapple. Second talk will be about: Walnut (2 types of species), Butternut, Hazelnut (2types of species), Rowan/Mountain Ash, Stinging Nettle and Chokecherry.
At downtown Vernon Library-(front room in the entrance)
Part 1: November 15th at 7pm-8.30pm
Part 2: November 29th at 7pm-8.30pm
Cost: $15/person


A medicinal garden
Planning a garden with medicinal and edible herbs. We identify, learn uses and growing prerequisites for the selected plants. We sample some of the herbs.
